What is ebb tide?

ebb tide is a serialized novella told across 6 zines and delivered twice a month to your actual real-life mailbox. It's about a girl lost in a shipwreck, and a medical student in Victorian London, and a seaside town where the tide almost never comes in. It's about grief and awe and the vast strangeness of the world and also all the ways our bodies betray us. Will it have a cohesive plot? Will it just be a series of atmospheric ramblings with a bunch of public domain images that I've taken an x-acto knife to? I don't know! But I can promise that it will be (1) fun to read and more importantly (2) six neat things you get in the mail and can hold in your actual human hands. 

Have you written it yet?

I've written two issues, but it's far from finished. For me, the point of this format is that I'm making a commitment I can't back down on so I actually finish the project. Fair warning: I don't write outlines and I don't know what the end goal is, except to have a story that feels complete in some way, so if you're looking for something polished, this probably isn't for you. But if you're looking for some cool mail with some decent writing in it, I think this is gonna be pretty sick. 

How much does it cost?

$15 gets you all six issues!

Can I get ebb tide if I don't live in the US?

Yep! But international stamps cost more than twice as much as US stamps, so there's a separate price ($20 instead of $15) to cover the cost differential. If you're putting in an international address, please be sure to select the "international shipping" reward below.

When will I get my first issue?

If you sign up before May 15, your first issue will be sent out May 15 and arrive to you whenever the United States Postal Services deems you worthy. If you sign up after May 15th, your first issue will be sent on the day of the following installment so I only have to go to the post office once. Regardless, by the end of this summer you should have all 6 issues in hand, and if you don't, you can message me and I'll send you anything you're missing. 

Will this be available online?

Maybe! Certainly not until it's all done, and maybe never. If I think it's really good, I may release a PDF eventually, but for now, it's ephemera. Come on, don't you want mail?
